Drift Recording at Parking Ramp (Final)

This was taken at the Parking garage right off of Campus by the Sandburg dorms and was at about 8:30 on Tuesday, March 6th.
Total Running Time: 1:51
For this drift, I was positioned perfectly on the corner of the garage so that I could very easily catch the sounds outside of the garage as well as within it. They partially echoed as you can hear the footprints reverberate off of the parking ramps walls. I love the Hi-fidelity I was able to get from it. The squeak of the door added an abnormal element to the piece and quickly became the main character of the recording. I also loved the occasional traffic adding a bit of familiarity to the work but also depth, due to the ease of hearing it fade away as they drove away.
I felt like this had constant noise and was very "aesthetically pleasing" like it almost had shape to it and formed not just a picture but a scene. As I was listening to the sounds being captured I was instantly captivated and knew I had gotten lucky with my drift on this piece. All the sounds complimented one another and yet had their own flavor they added to the piece.

Drift Strategy
My drift strategy is to leave my travels completely up to chance. I will first flip a coin, heads, I will start walking north on Maryland and tails, I will start walking south down Maryland. Once that is determined, I will roll a 6 sided dice, 6 times and the numbers I get will symbolize city blocks and how many of them I have to walk. Rolls 1, 3 and 5 will be for left turns and rolls 2, 4 and 6 will be for right turns at the end of my last block I walk each time.
